  • How should a devout Christian use the Word of God?

-Start with prayer

-Desire for the Spirit to lead

-Desire to meditate on scripture

-Desire for discernment

  • Why do we need accountability to read God’s Word?

-Bad training in the world

-Lack of application of what we read

-Matt 12:34 “out of the abundance of our heart we speak”. Lack of a heart’s desire to be close to God and filled with his spirit through his Word.

  • Is everything in scripture revealed / available to us today?

-He has given us all we need

-He has not revealed the return of Jesus

  • What scripture is best for memorization?

-Memorize passages in your areas of weakness

-Evangelistic scriptures.

  • Favorite verse, and why?

Michael: John 3:30

Aaron: 2 Cor 10:5 Eph 3:20, 21

Alex: 1 Cor 2:5

Mike W: Ps 9:10

  • When does Christian writing overtake the Word of God?

-When your hearts desire is for literature over the Word.

-When you have more knowledge on literature than the scripture.

-I Cor 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

  • How to best use the Word to teach?

-Expository – What does it say, what does it mean, and what should we get from it.

-Read it distinctly

-Neh 8:8 Let the scripture teach first, then the topic

-Teach not just for knowledge, but for application

-Preaching passages and using the topics that God gave us in them.

-Make it exciting, God is not boring.

-Use Biblical examples over secular. Use the Bible stories to illustrate your text.

Worship is the ascription of "Worth" to God. We are worshipping God when our attitudes, thoughts and actions are all being carried out in a way that proves that we know that God is Worthy of our everything! That is true worship.
